Members Bulletin re Covid -19

Dear Colleague

This note is to update members on the Association’s approach to Covid 19.

After consultation with the Officers of the Association, the following will apply:

1. All face-to-face meetings in AHCPS will be cancelled with immediate effect.
2. AHCPS Officials will prioritise dealing with members’ queries (whether received by email or phone) and dealing with employers on Covid 19-related issues. The main AHCPS number is diverted to one of the Official’s mobile phones. The mobile phone contact details for the Officials are as follows: Assistant General Secretary Billy Thompson (086) 1710043, Deputy General Secretary Paul Malone (086) 0109009, General Secretary Ciaran Rohan (087) 2300300.
3. The Officials and Staff of the Association will, insofar as possible, work from home during the next period of time.

4. It is likely that the 2020 Annual Delegate Conference will be deferred to later in the year. The AHCPS Executive will make the final decision on this in the next while.

I am aware that members will have many concerns about the workplace implications of the current crisis, as well as concerns for their own health and that of their families and friends.

Our intention is to focus all the Association’s efforts on protecting and assisting members as issues arise – as they inevitably will – in these difficult and extraordinary times, while ensuring the health and safety of members, activists and staff.
