This note is to update you on current issues.

Report of the Public Service Pay Commission

This report is due to be presented to Cabinet this morning. It is expected that the report will be released after that. When we have a copy available, we will send it to members. It is expected that an invitation to Pay Talks will be made by the Government shortly. Those talks are likely to commence either next week or the week after.

Institute of Public Administration Pay and Benefits Analysis Report

The Association asked the IPA to carry out an objective evaluation of the work performed by our grades in order to provide a solid basis to carry out a comparison with similar sized jobs in the private sector; and, a report setting out the comparison of the pay and benefits of the grades in question with private sector comparators. The Report was presented to the Annual Delegate Conference last Friday.

Media coverage of the ADC

You will find here the media coverage from the ADC last week. This includes articles in the Irish Times, Irish Examiner and RTE online. It also includes a TV News report and an interview with the General Secretary from the Drivetime show on RTE Radio 1. In addition there is an Opinion piece from the General Secretary from Friday morning’s Irish Times.
